Day 24: Con Air - Wednesday 4/5

Today we had our second early bird special, The Fuquay morning Rotary club. 7:30 am, presentation and breakfast made by our host Cindy Verain. It was raining and we were changing hosts for the last the time. With a little bit of pain in my hart we left the Verain family behind.

Second stop on the schedule was the Raleigh - Durham Airport for a tout behind the scene. With the Osama situation that wasn’t easy, but we were allowed to go on the tarmac, in the ground traffic control and the baggage distribution center. It was an amazing tour and we learned a lot of how things are done. The next time I wonder why my luggage takes so long to come in the baggage claim area, I’ll understand. The other thing we came a cross was a luggage cart with the stars and stripe flag of the USA. Apparently they only use that cart when there is a deceased soldier coming back from Iraq or Afghanistan. They told us that happens to often. A bit further we saw some heavily armed policemen loading up some criminals into a complete with plan. Yes, it was Con Air the real deal.

Third stop was an other rotary meeting and like real professionals we’d preformed once again.

Lucky for me, I could leave the group to go on a vocational revisited tour at UNC Hospital. I met with Thomas Smth again and we had a great tour of the facility and I learned a lot of great ideas.

As Serge Diof was my driver today, he decided to take me to his favorite ice cream barn and it was named Maple View Farm. My mango ice was delicious. After that it was straight to my new hosts Raymond and Miriam Ready.

After a nice turkey dinner and watching the Caps loose against the Lightning to loose the series I went to bed. Two more days left.

Nick
